Social Responsibility & Social Service

A thorough "Professional" yet a "Non Commercial" organisation we have multitude of members from different walks of life : four generations working together, drawn and bound together by pure love for social service, music, dance and dramatics.

The social service division:

  • Provides physical and mental development of students through performing arts and free counselling.
  • Provides its expertise to Municipal Schools, Ashram Shalas, Adivasi Schools within Mumbai and outside.
  • Uplifts and Mentors - youth, jail inmates, destitute women and orphanages.
  • Provides sanitation facilities to community people and schools with less priviledge backgrounds.

We have been organizing Nrityanjali FEST - interschool competitions for children, all over Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai since the last two decades in the month of November and December. This is organised, to give children an opportunity to display their talent and gain confidence. 90 categories of events are included in FEST – literary, speech, handwriting, drawing, acting, music, dance and drama – for Jr. K.G to Std. X.

For details on FEST please refer to the section on Nrityanjali FEST

Various activities are planned to provide constant guidance, encourage the development of the hidden talents of the youth, channelising their ubiquitous energies into creative, constructive and rewarding activities.

We also work on inculcating the basic qualities of a good human being, creating among the youth a strong code of ethics, morality and commitment.

Youth are also trained in editorial aspects of a magazine, including layout, proof reading, and creation of dummy magazines.

We impart free training in performing art forms under the aegis of expert Dr. Tushar Guha. We also organise Festivals of regional Music, Dance & Dramatics

The Sunday Classes through their methodical interaction motivate & develop self-confidence, team spirit, leadership qualities and selfless attitude.

Oratory, compering, stagecraft, dress designing, make-up, stage management, choreography, in-depth knowledge of the art (history, geography, music, costume etc.), event management and the art of communication are the other aspects of these classes.

Senior citizens, Terminally ill, Under Privileged

Music and dance performances for the inmates of orphanages, old age homes and the terminally ill are regularly organized and performed throughout the year.

Nrityanjali also finances education of the under privileged

Nrityanjali publishes the Quarterly House Magazine "PARICHAY MEIN PARICHAY" (PMP) with articles in the 3 languages of English, Hindi and Marathi. The magazine encourages members and writers to express themselves through their writing, in the form of articles on varied social, economic, scientific, political, cultural issues, poems and life experiences.

Open Forum for Principals (OFP) has been floated by Nrityanjali Education Services (NES) to make available opportunities for training of Heads of Schools and Teachers on related issues of administration, teaching aids, life skill programmes etc.

For more information on OFP kindly visit our section on Principal's Forum.

Rehabilitation of victims of physical, mental abuse, domestic violence and dowry harassment is another area that we work in. We take care of the victims as as well as their families providing both emotional and legal support.
